OUR CORE VALUES
At St Helena’s we live by our motto, “Something Beautiful for God,” which guides us in creating community, promoting respect and equality, and care for the Earth. Students, staff and families are encouraged to explore and grow in their relationship with God, and to live out our school values in their interactions with others, in all that they say and do.
At St Helena’s, community is at the heart of who we are. We foster a strong sense of belonging where students, families, staff, parish and the wider Ellenbrook community come together in partnership. Our school is a place where relationships are nurtured, diversity is celebrated, and everyone is welcomed. This value is lived out through whole-school events, liturgical celebrations, parent engagement, and a wide range of co-curricular activities that build connection and school spirit.
Respect is a cornerstone of our school culture. We teach students to treat others with kindness, empathy and fairness, and to value the dignity of every person. Respect is modelled by staff and students and embedded in our daily practices – from classroom interactions to playground behaviour. Through restorative approaches and a strong focus on wellbeing, students learn to take responsibility for their actions and contribute positively to a safe and inclusive environment.
At St Helena’s, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to thrive. We are committed to creating an inclusive learning environment where all students are supported and celebrated for who they are. At our school, every child’s learning journey matters. Our diverse learning programs ensures that individual needs are supported, while our extension program challenges and inspires high-achieving students to reach their full potential. We work to remove barriers to learning and promote fairness, ensuring that every student feels seen, heard and valued.
We teach our students to be stewards of creation, encouraging a deep respect for the natural world. Care for the Earth is woven into our curriculum and school life -from sustainability initiatives to hands-on experiences in our Gardening Club. Students learn about environmental responsibility and are empowered to make choices that protect and preserve our planet. This value reflects our commitment to living out our faith through action and care for all of God’s creation.
